Heat resistant steel tube manufacturer in Taiwan
Heat resistant steel tube manufactured by centrifugal casting
There are two types of heat-resistant steel tubes. One is casting specification and the other one is wrought specification. Several foundries would elevate the proportion of Si of heat resistant steel tube by casting method in order to be similar with forged tubes. However, heat-resistant steel tube is produced by casting mainly and we use centrifugal casting technique to manufacture heat resistant steel tubes.
Centrifugal casting is the right method to produce heat resistant steel tubes
Heat resistant steel is mainly designed for casting instead of forging. The quick cooling method of centrifugal casting technique is able to make the characteristics of heat resistant steel tube that is close to forged one. Also, the mechanical properties of heat resistant steel tube produced by centrifugal casting are able to be more superior than forged one via adjusting the proportion of elements in heat resistant steel. Therefore, we can say centrifugal casting is a great method to produce heat resistant steel tubes.
What is the main difference between heat resistant steel tube and stainless steel tube?
The main distinction is the carbon content. The carbon content of stainless steel tube must be low to resist aqueous corrosion. However, the carbon content of heat resistant steel tube is higher to improve the elevated temperature strength.
Let’s compare the 310 stainless steel tube and HK 40 heat resistant steel tube. 310 and HK40 are both heat-resistant, but the main difference is carbon content. The carbon of 310 stainless steel tube is smaller than 0.1%, however the HK 40 heat resistant steel tube is around 0.4%. The strength of HK 40 heat resistant steel tube under high temperature is better then 310, yet the corrosion resistance of 310 is greater. In summary, HK 40 heat resistant steel tube is suitable for being used in the environment with higher temperature and pressure and 310 stainless steel tube should be used in the aqueous condition.
Please check whether there is any heat resistant steel tube the fits your project in the table below. If not, please contact us and we are able to recommend the right heat resistant steel tube to you.
