Customized duplex stainless steel rings are produced by centrifugal casting technique at LAWAI INDUSTRIAL CORPORATION

Duplex stainless steel is the high grade stainless steel because it has excellent corrosion resistance and high strength.  LAWAI applies centrifugal casting technique to produce duplex stainless steel rings and duplex stainless steel tubes. 

In the previous article, we have introduced the duplex stainless steel tubes already and we are focusing on the duplex stainless steel rings in this article.  

Now it is really difficult to find a foundry in Taiwan able to manufacture custom duplex stainless steel rings because the applications of special stainless steel are not prevalent.  Most customers use common stainless steel such as stainless steel 304, 316, 316L more often.  However, we believe more and more companies will use duplex stainless steel through the industries upgrade in the near future.  Thus, we continue developing duplex stainless steel.

You are able to get the duplex stainless steel bars and drill the holes to make rings or purchase rings made by forged seamless pipes from abroad directly.  Neither two ways are the good purchasing methods. 

Our company is using more economical way to produce duplex stainless steel rings by centrifugal casting technique.

Why centrifugal casting is more cost effective ?

The reasons are as follows. 

1.     There is no need to drill the holes because there must be a hole in the middle of the ring produced by centrifugal casting.

2.     Centrifugal castings are non-spec. products, so the diameters of duplex stainless steel rings can be customized. 

3.     Whether it is a developing project or at the stage of mass production, customers will not face the problem of stock once purchasing duplex stainless steel rings produced by centrifugal casting.

Customized dimension of duplex stainless steel ring

To avoid increasing the manufacturing costs, the exact dimension of the ring is most customers want.  The duplex stainless steel rings produced by centrifugal casting technique are the rings that meet customers' needs exactly. 

We have the molds in different sizes at our foundry and we can choose the suitable molds to produce duplex stainless steel rings for customers.  If there is no suitable mold, we will be able to make the new one to produce the duplex stainless steel rings.

Duplex stainless steel rings are valuable because the corrosion resistance and strength are more excellent than 300 series stainless steel rings.

Also, the duplex stainless steel rings produced by centrifugal casting technique make the rings more valuable because they are without pores and impurities that could show the greatest mechanical properties. 

In the age that environmental protection is significant for each company, our duplex stainless steel rings are produced by recycled raw materials from the machining chips.  Using recycled raw material would not affect the mechanical properties of the stainless steel rings and this environmental friendly way shows our love and respect for this planet.

We can produce duplex stainless steel 2205 and super duplex stainless steel 2507 both.  The duplex stainless steel rings with the diameter from 50 to 400 mm are what we could produce .  However, we need to do the evaluation in details based on the drawings and the requirements provided by customers to ensure whether the rings are suitable for being produced by centrifugal casting.
